Blum 71B9590 CLIP top BLUMOTION 95° Overlay INSERTA Hinge

The Blum 71B9590 is a specialist 95° concealed hinge for overlay cabinet doors with thick or decoratively profiled fronts. Finished in contemporary Onyx Black, it combines integrated BLUMOTION soft closing with Blum’s tool-free INSERTA cup fixing.

Its straight hinge arm is intended for overlay applications, commonly described as full overlay when used with the appropriate mounting plate. The final door overlay depends on the selected mounting-plate height, cup drilling distance and cabinet construction.

This hinge is particularly useful where a standard 110° cabinet hinge may not provide sufficient clearance for a thick door edge, deep profile or decorative front. Door thickness, edge profile and required clearance should always be checked during planning.

Technical specifications

INSERTA tool-free installation

INSERTA secures the hinge cup into a correctly prepared door without conventional cup-fixing screws. The 35mm cup and two 8mm fixing holes must be drilled accurately before the INSERTA locking mechanism is closed.

INSERTA refers only to the connection between the hinge cup and the door. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is still required on the cabinet and must be ordered separately.

Planning a thick or profiled door

The available clearance changes according to the door thickness, edge profile, cup drilling distance and mounting-plate height. For unusually thick or deeply profiled fronts, make a trial installation before drilling every door.

Blum advises that CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges and standard non-BLUMOTION CLIP top hinges should not be mixed on the same cabinet door.

INSERTA is Blum’s tool-free method of securing the hinge cup into a prepared 35mm cup hole with two additional 8mm fixing holes. It does not describe the cabinet mounting plate.

Is a mounting plate included?

No. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be selected according to the cabinet construction and required door overlay.

Can the BLUMOTION soft-close mechanism be switched off?

Yes. The integrated BLUMOTION mechanism can be deactivated when reduced closing resistance is desirable for a small or lightweight door.

Can this hinge be used with TIP-ON push-to-open?

Not as a normal combination. This is a sprung, self-closing BLUMOTION hinge. A properly planned unsprung hinge application should be used for TIP-ON push-to-open doors.
