PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Woodleaf Mahogany Pre-Glued Wood Veneer Sheet – 2500 x 255mm

Create a rich natural-wood finish on furniture, cabinetry and interior joinery with this Woodleaf Mahogany Pre-Glued Wood Veneer Sheet. Measuring 2500mm long by 255mm wide, it provides a practical format for covering narrow panels, cabinet components, plinths, drawer fronts, furniture parts and repair sections.

The genuine mahogany veneer surface provides the warm reddish-brown colouring and attractive natural grain traditionally associated with mahogany furniture and joinery. Its decorative appearance is suitable for both traditional projects and contemporary interiors requiring a darker, warmer timber finish.

This HM version has a factory-applied heat-activated adhesive backing. It does not normally require a separate wet adhesive and can be applied using suitable controlled heating and pressing equipment or an appropriate veneer iron.

The 2500mm length is useful for long cabinet and furniture components, while the 255mm width provides considerably more coverage than conventional veneer edging. It is particularly useful when a narrow veneer sheet is required but a full-size sheet would create unnecessary waste.

Application Guidance

Ensure the receiving surface is clean, dry, flat, smooth and free from dust, grease or loose material. Measure the component and position the veneer carefully before activating the adhesive.

Apply controlled, even heat and firm pressure progressively across the veneer. Avoid holding the heat source in one position for too long. Work methodically to reduce the possibility of movement, trapped air or uneven bonding.

Allow the adhesive to cool completely before trimming the edges or carrying out further finishing work. Application temperature, pressure and heating time can vary depending on the equipment and substrate, so test the process on a small or spare section first.

After bonding, the veneer can be carefully trimmed and lightly prepared for a compatible lacquer, oil, stain or clear timber finish where required. Test the selected finishing product first because clear finishes and oils commonly deepen the colour of natural timber.

Real wood naturally varies in colour, grain and figuring. These variations give every sheet its individual appearance and should not be considered defects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this real wood veneer?

Yes. The visible surface is genuine wood veneer with a natural mahogany appearance. Variations in colour and grain should therefore be expected.

What does HM mean?

HM identifies the heat-activated adhesive backing. The adhesive is activated using controlled heat and firm, even pressure during application.

What size is the veneer sheet?

The sheet measures 2500mm long by 255mm wide. Check the required coverage and allow sufficient material for positioning and final trimming.

Can it be applied to MDF?

It can be applied to suitable MDF, plywood, chipboard and similar stable substrates, provided the surface is clean, dry, flat and correctly prepared.

Do I need to apply a separate adhesive?

No separate wet adhesive is normally required because the sheet has a factory-applied heat-activated backing. Correct heat and pressure are required to activate the bond.

Can it be used for furniture restoration?

Yes. It can be used to repair or update appropriately prepared furniture panels and components where the size, mahogany appearance and heat-application method are suitable.

Can the veneer be lacquered or stained?

The natural surface can be finished with a compatible timber lacquer, oil, stain or clear finish. Always test the chosen finish first because it may darken or alter the final colour.

Will every sheet look identical?

No. Genuine wood veneer varies naturally in grain, shade and figuring. If several pieces will be used together, check their appearance and orientation before bonding.
