PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Blum 70T6650.TL CLIP top 170° Dual Unsprung Screw-On Hinge

The Blum 70T6650.TL is a wide-angle, unsprung CLIP top concealed hinge for dual or half-overlay cabinet-door applications. This arrangement is commonly used where two doors are mounted to opposite sides of a shared central cabinet panel.

Its 170° opening angle provides improved access to cabinet interiors, making the hinge useful for cupboards, larder units and storage furniture where a conventional opening angle may restrict access.

This is an unsprung/free-swinging hinge. It does not pull the door closed and does not contain integrated BLUMOTION, making it suitable for handleless doors fitted with a Blum TIP-ON push-to-open device.

Dual or half-overlay application

Dual application means that two doors can be hinged from opposite sides of a shared central cabinet panel. The correct mounting-plate height and drilling position must be selected according to the required door overlay, door thickness and cabinet construction.

Mounting plate required

A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and is sold separately. The hinge arm clips onto the plate without tools once the cup and mounting plate have been mechanically fixed.

TIP-ON and BLUMOTION guidance

This unsprung hinge is suitable for Blum TIP-ON push-to-open installations. It should not be described as a soft-close or self-closing hinge.

The Blum 973A6000 BLUMOTION attachment can add damping to compatible 170° hinges, but it does not add a closing spring to this unsprung model. For conventional self-closing soft-close operation, a sprung 170° dual-application hinge is required.

Optional opening-angle restriction

The compatible Blum 70.6103 opening-angle stop can reduce the hinge opening from 170° to approximately 130°.

Installation guidance

The 170° specification describes the hinge’s maximum opening angle. It does not guarantee that the door will sit flat against the cabinet when open. Door thickness, overlay, drilling distance and surrounding clearance must be checked for each installation.

Blum recommends carrying out a trial application for door fronts over 22mm thick.

Frequently asked questions

What does dual or half-overlay mean?

It describes an arrangement where two cabinet doors are hinged from opposite sides of a shared central panel.

Is this specifically a face-frame hinge?

No. It is a dual or half-overlay hinge. Suitability for an individual face-frame construction must be confirmed through installation planning.

Is the 70T6650.TL sprung?

No. It is unsprung and free-swinging, so it does not pull the door closed.

Does the hinge include soft-close?

No. It has no integrated BLUMOTION and no closing spring.

Can it be used with Blum TIP-ON?

Yes. Its unsprung action makes it suitable for TIP-ON push-to-open handleless doors.

Will a BLUMOTION attachment make it self-closing?

No. A BLUMOTION attachment provides damping but does not add a closing spring to an unsprung hinge.

Does the 170° opening make the door lie flat?

Not necessarily. The final door position depends on the cabinet construction, overlay, door thickness and available clearance.

Is the mounting plate included?

No. This listing supplies one hinge only. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.

Is installation completely tool-free?

No. The hinge cup and mounting plate require fixing. Tool-free operation applies to connecting and removing the hinge arm from the mounting plate.

Can the opening angle be restricted?

Yes. The optional Blum 70.6103 opening-angle stop reduces the opening angle to approximately 130°.

What is the difference between 70T6650.TL and 71T6650?

The 70T6650.TL is unsprung and free-swinging. The 71T6650 contains a closing spring and is self-closing.

Is there additional safety guidance?

Where young children have access to furniture fitted with wide-angle hinges, Blum recommends using a suitable 155° zero-protrusion hinge instead.
