Blum 71B7550 CLIP top BLUMOTION Wide-Angle Hinge – 155° Overlay

The Blum 71B7550 is a premium 155° wide-opening concealed hinge with integrated BLUMOTION soft-close and zero-protrusion geometry. It is designed for overlay cabinet doors where wide access to the cabinet interior is required.

When correctly planned, the zero-protrusion design keeps the open door clear of the cabinet opening. This allows internal drawers, pull-out shelves and storage baskets to extend past the hinge side without striking the door.

The hinge uses a conventional 35mm screw-on cup, making it suitable for compatible timber, MDF and chipboard cabinet doors up to 24mm thick, subject to the required drilling position, door profile and clearance calculation.

Wide 155° cabinet access

The 155° opening angle provides substantially wider cabinet access than a standard 95°, 107° or 110° concealed hinge.

It is particularly useful for pantry units, kitchen base cabinets, storage furniture and cabinets containing internal drawers or pull-out storage systems. The wider movement provides improved access when loading, cleaning or operating internal fittings.

Adequate clearance must be allowed beside walls, neighbouring doors, appliance fronts and projecting handles. A trial installation is recommended when the door opens alongside another surface.

Zero protrusion for internal drawers

In a correctly planned overlay application, the open door remains clear of the internal cabinet opening. This allows an inner drawer or pull-out shelf to extend without colliding with the door edge.

Zero protrusion depends on the mounting-plate position, door overlay, cabinet-side thickness and hinge adjustment. The Blum planning dimensions should therefore be followed rather than assuming every overlay arrangement will provide pull-out clearance.

Integrated BLUMOTION soft-close

BLUMOTION is incorporated into the hinge arm and controls the final part of the door’s closing movement. This creates a smooth, quiet close without requiring a separate damper.

The damping function can be switched off at an individual hinge. This is useful when balancing the closing performance of smaller or lightweight doors.

Suitable for compatible doors up to 24mm

Blum specifies the 155° hinge for compatible cabinet doors up to 24mm thick. Maximum thickness is not automatic proof of compatibility, as the door-edge profile, drilling distance, front radius and required opening clearance also affect operation.

Complete a trial installation before drilling multiple doors, particularly when using a thick front, moulded edge or an overlay application positioned beside a wall.

Screw-on 35mm hinge cup

The 71B7550 uses a conventional 35mm round hinge cup secured through the cup flanges with suitable screws. It is not a knock-in or INSERTA version.

Cup-fixing screws should be selected to suit the door material and remaining thickness beneath the drilled cup. They must not penetrate the decorative face of the door.

Installation and adjustment

The hinge arm clips onto a compatible Blum mounting plate without tools. This allows the door to be attached or removed while leaving the cabinet-side mounting plate in position.

Side, depth and height adjustment allow the overlay and door gaps to be refined after installation. The spiral depth-adjustment screw provides controlled adjustment without removing the door.

Opening-angle restriction

The full opening movement can be reduced where a wall, neighbouring cabinet or handle restricts the available space. HI70T7553 reduces a compatible 155° hinge to approximately 110°, and HI70T755309 reduces it to approximately 92°.
