PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Blum AVENTOS HK-XS 20K1501 stay-lift mechanism provides compact upward-opening support for small single-piece cabinet fronts. Its higher 800–1800 power-factor range is intended for HK-XS applications requiring more lifting force than the 20K1101 or 20K1301 mechanisms.

Stock code HI20K1501SET identifies this standard configuration. It is not the TIP-ON version and must not be presented as a handleless or push-to-open mechanism. The symmetrical design allows the lift mechanism to be installed on one side or, where the calculated application requires it, on both sides of the cabinet.

Compact support for upward-opening cabinet fronts

AVENTOS HK-XS is Blum's compact stay-lift system for small wall cabinets, tall-unit applications and overhead storage with limited internal space. When correctly selected and adjusted, the mechanism balances the cabinet front and allows it to remain at a convenient intermediate position.

The standard opening angle is approximately 105°. The final opening movement also depends on the selected hinges, and a hinge with a smaller opening angle will restrict the front accordingly. Suitable hinges, mounting plates and fixing components are therefore essential to the complete application.

Selecting the 800–1800 power factor

Power factor is calculated by multiplying the cabinet height in millimetres by the complete cabinet-front weight in kilograms, including the handle. The 800–1800 figure is a calculated application range and must never be described as a weight in grams.

Blum states that the available power factor is doubled when a symmetrical HK-XS mechanism is installed on both sides. Use current Blum planning information and carry out a trial application where the calculated requirement falls within an overlapping or borderline range.

Standard operation with compatible hinges

The 20K1501 standard mechanism is designed for an application using suitable compatible sprung hinges. Soft and controlled closing is achieved in conjunction with appropriate CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges; BLUMOTION is not integrated into the HK-XS lift mechanism itself.

For a handleless cabinet front, select the separate 20K1501T TIP-ON heavy-duty set together with the required unsprung hinges and TIP-ON components. The TIP-ON version covers a different power-factor range of 800–1600 and must not be confused with this standard 800–1800 product.
