Blum 71T6540B CLIP top 170° Overlay INSERTA Hinge

Open a full-overlay cabinet door wide for access to a corner cupboard or broad storage compartment. The Blum 71T6540B is a nickel-plated wide-angle CLIP top hinge with a 170° opening and a closing spring. It uses INSERTA tool-free hinge-cup fixing to a correctly prepared door. Plan the wide opening

The straight-arm overlay application positions the door over the cabinet side, while the wide-angle motion can provide access beyond a standard 110° hinge. A 170° opening does not by itself guarantee zero door protrusion for internal drawers or pull-outs. Check the cabinet, adjacent front, handle and pull-out clearances against the full Blum planning diagram before drilling. Overlay, plate height and cup position determine the final door position.

INSERTA cup and CLIP mounting

INSERTA secures the door-side cup without conventional cup screws. The recorded hinge specification lists a 35 mm cup, two 8 mm fixing holes at 45 mm centres, 11.2 mm cup drilling depth and 3–8 mm drilling distance; confirm the complete pattern against the current 71T6540B fitting plan. The arm connects to a separately selected compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate. INSERTA does not mean the plate is included or that every plate fits every cabinet.

Sprung closing and optional damping

Its spring draws the door closed, but this hinge has no integrated BLUMOTION soft close. The existing product specification identifies it as a hinge for a separate 973A-family BLUMOTION damper; check the exact damper variant and suitability for the finished installation before ordering. Do not confuse an optional damper with damping included in the hinge.
