Integrated BLUMOTION soft close

BLUMOTION is incorporated directly into the hinge cup. It slows the door during the final stage of closing, providing a smooth and controlled movement without requiring a separate soft-close adapter.

The BLUMOTION function can be switched off on individual hinges. This allows the closing action to be adjusted for smaller or lighter cabinet doors.

Fully inset cabinet-door application

An inset door closes within the cabinet opening instead of overlapping the cabinet sides. The 71B3790 uses a full-cranked hinge arm to position the door correctly within the cabinet.

Inset installations require careful planning of the door thickness, gaps, hinge-cup drilling distance and mounting-plate position. Blum specifies that the cabinet-side mounting-plate fixing position should be moved back by the door thickness plus 1.5mm.

Tool-free INSERTA cup installation

INSERTA is Blum’s tool-free hinge-to-door fixing system. The 35mm hinge cup and its integrated fixing mechanism are installed into correctly prepared door borings without conventional fixing screws.

The door must still be drilled accurately. INSERTA does not remove the requirement for the 35mm cup bore and two prepared fixing holes.

Once the hinge is fitted to the door, Blum’s CLIP mechanism allows the hinge arm to be attached to or removed from a compatible mounting plate without tools.

Mounting plate information

The INSERTA fixing mechanism is already incorporated into the hinge cup. There is no separate “INSERTA boss plate” to purchase.

A compatible cabinet-side Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and sold separately. The correct plate spacing and drilling position depend on the door thickness, required gaps and cabinet construction. A trial installation is recommended before drilling a complete set of doors.
