PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Blum 71T7550 155° Zero-Protrusion Overlay Hinge

The Blum 71T7550 CLIP top hinge is a wide-opening concealed hinge for full-overlay cabinet doors. Its specialist zero-protrusion geometry makes it particularly suitable for cabinets containing internal drawers, pull-out shelves, wire baskets and larder fittings.

When correctly planned and installed, the open door moves clear of the cabinet interior at approximately 90°. This allows an internal drawer or pull-out fitting to travel forward without colliding with the back edge of the cabinet door.

Wide 155° opening

The 155° maximum opening angle provides substantially wider access than a conventional 95° or 110° cabinet hinge. It is suitable for kitchen larder units, pantry cabinets, bedroom storage and fitted furniture containing internal drawers or pull-out accessories.

Optional Blum opening-angle stops can reduce the maximum opening to approximately 110° or 92° where an adjacent wall, cabinet, appliance or projecting handle limits door movement. These accessories are sold separately.

Sprung closing without integrated soft close

The 71T7550 contains a closing spring that pulls the door into the closed position. It does not contain integrated BLUMOTION soft close. Choose the corresponding Blum 71B7550 hinge when an integrated, switchable BLUMOTION mechanism is required.

Screw-on hinge-cup fixing

This model uses a traditional screw-on hinge cup. The 35 mm cup fits into a correctly prepared door boring and is secured through the cup flange using suitable screws.

Screw-on refers specifically to the hinge-cup attachment on the cabinet door. The separate cabinet-side mounting plate must be selected according to the required overlay, plate height, cabinet construction and fixing method.

Door thickness and installation planning

Blum’s application-planning tables include front thicknesses up to 31 mm, but suitability depends on the drilling distance, front radius, required gap, overlay, mounting-plate height and opening-angle restriction. Thicker or unusually shaped doors must be checked using Blum planning information before installation.

A trial installation is recommended where the cabinet is positioned against a wall, beside another cabinet front or close to an appliance. Check the movement of any projecting handle as well as the cabinet door.

Mounting plates and accessories

This product is supplied as one hinge only. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be selected and ordered separately.

Compatible opening-angle stops include Blum 70T7553 for an approximately 110° opening and Blum 70T7553.09 for an approximately 92° opening. Both stops are sold separately.

Questions and answers

What does zero protrusion mean?

When correctly planned, the open overlay door moves clear of the cabinet interior. This allows internal drawers, shelves, baskets and pull-outs to open without striking the back edge of the door.

Does the Blum 71T7550 include soft close?

No. The 71T7550 is a sprung CLIP top hinge without integrated BLUMOTION. Choose Blum 71B7550 when an integrated soft-close mechanism is required.

How far does the hinge open?

The hinge has a maximum opening angle of 155°, providing wider cabinet access than a standard 110° hinge.

Can the opening angle be restricted?

Yes. Compatible Blum opening-angle stops can reduce the opening to approximately 110° or 92°. The stops are sold separately.

Is this hinge suitable for a pull-out larder?

Yes, provided the installation is correctly planned. Zero-protrusion hinges are designed for cabinets where internal drawers or pull-outs must move past the open cabinet door.

Is the mounting plate included?

No. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.

What does screw-on mean?

It means the 35 mm hinge cup is secured to the back of the cabinet door using screws. It does not describe the fixing method of the separate cabinet mounting plate.

How can I confirm this is the correct replacement?

Check for Blum number 71T7550 and confirm the existing hinge is a 155° full-overlay zero-protrusion hinge with a screw-on cup and sprung closing action. Do not confuse it with the soft-close 71B7550 version.
