The Blum 79A9494BT CLIP top angled hinge is designed for specialist +15° Type III maximum-overlay cabinet applications. It allows a cabinet door to operate correctly where the cabinet side or front is positioned at a positive 15° angle instead of forming a conventional right-angled carcass.

This makes the hinge suitable for purpose-built corner furniture, angled end cabinets, diagonal kitchen units and bespoke cabinetry where a standard straight hinge cannot provide the required door position.

The hinge has a 95° opening angle and a sprung, self-closing mechanism. It pulls the cabinet door into its closed position but does not include integrated BLUMOTION soft-close damping.

What does +15° Type III mean?

The +15° measurement describes the angle of the cabinet application—not how far the door opens. The door itself opens to approximately 95°.

Type III identifies the hinge-arm geometry used to create a maximum-overlay arrangement on the angled cabinet. The final door position depends on the hinge, mounting-plate height, drilling distance and cabinet construction working together.

Tool-free INSERTA cup fixing

The 79A9494BT uses Blum’s INSERTA system to secure the hinge cup to a correctly drilled cabinet door without conventional cup-fixing screws. The integrated locking mechanism expands the fixings when closed, providing fast and repeatable installation.

The hinge still requires the complete INSERTA drilling pattern, including a 35mm hinge-cup hole and the corresponding fixing holes. INSERTA does not mean that the door can be fitted without drilling.

Technical specification

Angled-hinge planning is essential

Angled cabinet hinges cannot be selected from the angle alone. The correct mounting plate and fixing positions depend on the cabinet geometry, required overlay, door thickness and drilling distance.

Some +15° Type III installations require the mounting plate to be moved from the standard 37mm cabinet-side fixing position or used with a suitable angled spacer. A trial installation or confirmation through the Blum Product Configurator is recommended before drilling a complete set of doors.
