Blum 71T950AB CLIP top 95° Aluminium-Frame Overlay Hinge for 973A

Fit a narrow aluminium-frame overlay door with the Blum 71T950AB. This nickel-plated 95° CLIP top hinge has a spring for conventional self-closing action and a shaped screw-on aluminium-frame cup. It is designed to accept the optional Blum 973A0500.01 clip-on BLUMOTION damper; damping is not built in or included. One hinge is supplied.

Add soft closing only if needed

Without the damper, the spring draws the door closed. The separate 973A overlay damper clips onto the compatible hinge arm to add BLUMOTION. Confirm the exact damper and hinge combination and assess the door’s size and weight before deciding how many dampers to use. The standard 71T950A does not provide this 973A fitting, while the 71B950A has integrated damping.

Prepare the aluminium frame

The screw-on shaped zinc cup fits a correctly routed aluminium profile, not a 35 mm circular timber-door cup hole. The existing product data lists 28 mm fixing centres, a 28/6.9 mm pattern and approximately 17 mm routing depth; verify the current Blum drawing against the actual extrusion before drilling.
