Blum 75T168E CLIP Top 107° Half-Overlay EXPANDO Hinge

The Blum 75T168E is a sprung CLIP top concealed hinge for dual or half-overlay cabinet doors. This application is used where two doors are fitted on opposite sides of the same central cabinet partition.

The hinge combines a 107° opening angle with Blum’s standard EXPANDO split-dowel cup fixing. Its shallow 11.5mm minimum cup drilling depth makes it suitable for cabinet fronts approximately 15–24mm thick.

Important: the 75T168E is sprung and self-closing, but it does not contain integrated BLUMOTION soft-close.

Dual and half-overlay application

The 9.5mm cranked hinge arm positions each cabinet door so that it covers approximately half of the shared centre panel. This allows two doors to operate from one cabinet partition while maintaining the necessary gap between them.

The final overlay and door gap depend on the selected mounting-plate height, cup-drilling distance and cabinet construction. A trial installation is recommended before drilling multiple doors.

How the EXPANDO fixing works

The hinge is supplied with pre-mounted EXPANDO split dowels and fixing screws. Installation requires a 35mm cup bore together with two accurately positioned 8mm fixing holes on 45mm centres.

After the hinge is inserted into the prepared drilling pattern, the two pre-mounted screws are tightened. This expands the split dowels inside the 8mm holes and securely fastens the hinge cup to the door.

Standard EXPANDO should not be described as tool-free. A suitable screwdriver or powered driver is required to tighten the fixing screws.

Standard EXPANDO is not EXPANDO T

The 75T168E uses Blum’s standard EXPANDO split-dowel fixing and requires a conventional 35mm hinge-cup bore.

It should not be confused with Blum EXPANDO T, which is a different fixing system designed for suitable thin-front materials and does not use a conventional 35mm hinge cup.

CLIP top fitting and adjustment

Once the cup is secured, the hinge arm clips onto a compatible Blum mounting plate without tools. This allows the cabinet door to be installed or removed without disturbing the mounting-plate screws or adjustment settings.

Side, depth and height adjustment allow adjoining doors to be aligned accurately across the shared cabinet partition.
